Located in south-central Indiana, Bloomington High Schools North and South regularly compete in sports and academics but the orchestra students from these two schools perform, work and play together in the Hoosier Youth Philharmonic.
President - We are looking for a new president! - coordinate with the directors, run the Boosters meetings, and organize parent volunteers
3:30 - 4:15 pm
Students rehearse for the all-MCCSC strings celebration. Students are responsible for their own transportation to South after school. Students should bring their own music stand to the rehearsal. Look for more information in class and coming home via Parent Square.
The BHS South Middle School crew and BHS North Intermediate Middle School crew will report at 7:40 PM to tear down the stage after the middle school rehearsal. Teardown will be quick, as only chairs (no stands) need to be removed.
5:30 pm Call time for all crew members and executive council to set up
6:15 pm Call time for musicians
7:00-9:00 pm Performance
Listen to and support every orchestra in MCCSC! Merchandise will be available for purchase. Look for more information in class and coming home via Parent Square about refreshments to donate for merits.
Students should bring their own stand, place it in the gym, and then proceed to the BHS South orchestra room to tune.
Following the concert, there will be a light reception with refreshments (thank you HYP Parent Boosters!). After the concert, all crew members and executive council will assist with breaking down the gym setup.
7:00-8:00 pm
This meeting will take place online as a Microsoft Teams call. We will discuss the Strings Spectacular and Spaghetti Supper. HYP board meetings take place at BHSN all fall semester (this is the last booster meeting at North for the 25-26 school year; we will move to South starting with the January meeting).
