Past Fundraising Events:

Dine to Donate: BJ’s!

Don’t know what to cook for Thursday? Take the night off and dine out at BJ’s! You will need to present the flier to your server for the credit to go to HYP. The event is also on our Facebook page, so please share away! Let’s fill BJ’s with HYP supporters.

HYP Bazaar

This year the HYP is launching a new effort: the HYP Bazaar.

The Bazaar will provide middle school families with a source of inexpensive concert attire while also serving as a fundraiser for the HYP. Please check your closets for outgrown or unwanted white shirts, black pants and skirts, and black dress shoes then send those items to school with your child. We will also gladly accept equipment such as shoulder rests, rosin, cases, and practice books.

Thanks to the few who donated during the welcome dessert, but we have a long way to go in order to make this a successful event. The items will then be sold at middle school open houses.

If you have any questions, please contact Kim Munroe at kimberlymunroe@sbcglobal.net. We appreciate your support.

Valentine Cookie Bake 2017

Valentine Cookie Bake is fast approaching and is one of the last fundraising opportunities before our trip to Orlando. There are a number of ways that students and parents can participate.

Sell cookies

HYP is selling a heart shaped chocolate chip cookie (6” by 6”) with frosting decoration. Each cookie is $3.00 and a 3-word acceptable phrase can be put on each cookie. This is an inexpensive way to tell someone they are special!

Students will take orders for cookies and collect money when the order is placed. “Secret admirer” orders may be placed for friends at either high school. The receiver will be given a notice at school to pick up their cookie on Valentine’s Day. Home orders can also be taken for family and friends. All home orders must be picked up after 6pm at BHSN in the Home Ec kitchens on February 13th.

Order forms will be distributed during class on Tuesday, 1/31. Students need to sell 12 cookies to receive credit towards their merit. Order forms and money need to be turned in no later than Thursday, February 9th. We can only accept 1,200 cookie orders. No exceptions. This is not to leave anyone out. In order to get all of the supplies purchased ahead of time, we must have a solid number.  HYP must also bake and box all cookies in a short amount of time. We can do it because we are proactive and organized. We appreciate your assistance with this. We are successful because of you.

Please only send orders and money in on specific dates. Believe it or not, there is a very specific method for collecting, approving and organizing the orders. The dates are as follows:

Wed, Feb 1
Tues, Feb 7
Thurs, Feb 9

Work a shift

Students can work a 2-hour shift on Monday, February 13th to help bake and decorate cookies. Shifts begin at 3:30 pm in the BHSN Home Ec kitchens. Student sign up sheets will be posted in the classrooms on Tuesday, 1/31.

Parents can also volunteer to work a 2-hour shift on February 13th. Parents can help supervise a small group of students baking, decorating, or boxing cookies in the Home Ec kitchen; or can work in the box room folding, sorting and tying boxes. Parents will sign up for shifts via SignUp Genius. Please coordinate with your child if you would like to work the same shift.

SCRIP Order Opportunity at Strings Spectacular

Joanna Bruce, Scrip Card Chairperson, would like to invite you to place your order for scrip cards (gift cards). She will be taking orders at the String Spectacular concert on January 12th.  Just print the form from the link below, fill it in and bring the money and form to the concert on Thursday.

The amount that you pay is the amount of gift card. There is no additional fee for you. If there is a place you would like to order from that is not listed, please email Joanna, and she will look into whether or not we can meet your needs. On the order form where it says customer, please indicate the student that you would like to receive credit.

Utilizing scrip cards is great for gifts or for budgeting purposes. The percentage back to HYP is anywhere from 2% to 16%! Feel free to ask friends and family if they would like to participate. Since the email is electronic, you may forward them the link and take their order! This is one program that will assist us in fundraising smarter, not harder!

Melody Music’s Round up for HYP

Melody Music’s Round up for HYP: Ends Dec. 31st

With each purchase at Melody Music, the cashier will ask if the customer would like to round up to the next dollar to support HYP. Melody has many great gifts for musicians. If you need to purchase music for ISSMA, maybe purchase it at Melody and round up to the next dollar? Every little bit counts.
